Wake Up!

Wake Up! is a side scroller shoot ‘em up that focuses on player immersion in the game world and has a spooky, intense twist.

In Wake Up!, the player is stuck in a nightmare where they are being bombarded by nightmare creatures. To escape the dream, the player must find a way to wake up before they go insane, by defeating night terrors. To achieve this, players must weave and shoot through the waves of enemies in the dream with their weapon (a flashlight) and the powerups they find along (batteries floating across the dreamscape and sanity increases dropped by enemies). Instead of health, the player has a sanity bar which decreases when they are hit by enemies. If the player’s sanity increases to 100%, they escape the dream. But, if their sanity drops to 0, they lose (i.e. they are trapped in the dream forever).

With an eerie, dark and surreal aesthetic, and intense and immersive gameplay, Wake Up! is a visually interesting and exciting game.
